Big, Big World

A world without the internet? Is it even possible? After all, I'm posing this question on a blog that only exists virtually. But really, it's hard to believe that this next generation has never lived, never known a world without the net. Their view of the world is so large; space and time don't really mean what it meant before with programs like skype, which makes it possible to connect to anyone anywhere at least theoretically, with a click of a mouse. When I was a child, the computer was such a foreign concept. A machine with strange buttons and cool colors. Although I had a computer at home, it was a privilege to actually use it. This new generation has the web on their fingertips, accessing anything anywhere is not an occasional bliss but a ordinary norm. I guess what I'm trying to say is I prefer bubbles and that our children had a sense of naivety.

I'm really not sure I like this new time we live in.
